Airport Coach Transfers
From Hong Kong International Airport to Grand Mercure Shenzhen
As part of your registration, your return tickets between Perth and Hong Kong will be booked on your behalf with the EASTxWEST Forum’s airline of choice and Principal Travel Partner, Singapore Airlines.
From Hong Kong Airport, transfers will be arranged by the Pilbara Regional Council to transfer you between Hong Kong and the Grand Mercure in Shenzhen. The coach transfer will feature delegates having their VISAS checked by Chinese officials without having to leave the comfort of the transfer coach.
The trip between Hong Kong and the Grand Mercure Shenzhen is approximately 2 hours in length, and delegates will be accompanied by Event Staff to answer any questions they may have and ensure a professional transfer. Transfer costs are covered within the registration price.
Visa and Travel Information
Different Visa requirement for Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China
Hong Kong and Macau are Special Administrative Regions (SAR) and have separate visa and entry administration. Travellers who exit mainland China to visit Hong Kong or Macau may require a new Chinese visa to re-enter mainland China. In particular, travellers with a single entry visa for China should take particular note of this requirement. Some travel permits, issued in Hong Kong or at Hong Kong-Macau-Chinese mainland border crossings, are valid for limited travel to designated areas only such as Shenzhen, Zhuhai or other areas in Guangdong Province.
It is illegal to use these permits to travel to other parts of China. Travellers should carefully check the details on their visa.
An invitation letter will be provided for your Visa application
The Pilbara Regional Council as part of the registration process will give each delegate a pre-populated VISA form (some fields filled in for convenience) as well as an invitation letter from the Australia China Business Council (WA) to visit China.
Each delegate is responsible for ensuring they have the correct Visa to enter China for the purposes of the EASTxWEST Forum.
If travelling to China, your passport must be valid for at least six months after the duration of your intended stay and you must also be able to provide evidence of a return or onward ticket.
